VSA School Year 2024-25: Positions Available

1. Support (Shadow) Teacher

Requirements:

• Provide direct support for individual students by adapting or modifying curriculum and assessment
• Work with students individually or in small groups to address academic or learning needs, both within and outside the classroom
• Support upper school students with executive functioning skill development
• Previous experience and training in special education preferred
• High-level proficiency in both English and Mandarin; Cantonese is an advantage
• Familiarity with IB MYP/DP
• Contract from mid-August 2024 to June 30, 2025

2. Supply Teachers

Requirements:

• Join the supply teachers’ pool for ad hoc assignments
• Registered teacher with the Hong Kong Education Bureau
• Commitment to student-centered and inquiry-based learning
• Knowledge of IB MYP/DP programs is an advantage
• Right to work in Hong Kong

3. IB MYP & DP Chinese Cover Teacher (Mid-August to end of October 2024)

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree or above in Chinese Language, Chinese Literature, or a relevant discipline
• MYP and DP Chinese teaching experience; experience in Chinese A preferred
• In-depth understanding of Chinese languages, history, and cultural heritage
• Experience teaching Chinese History is an asset
• Fluent in Mandarin with an excellent command of English
• Experience in a bilingual workplace
• Commitment to student-centered, inquiry-based learning
• Enthusiasm for pastoral care, building strong relationships with students, including homeroom teacher and PSHE responsibilities
• Growth mindset with a willingness to adapt to new cultural environments
