The World Food Programme (WFP) is looking for a passionate and experienced Programme Policy Officer to lead capacity building and knowledge sharing initiatives in its Beijing Office. This temporary position will play a crucial role in advancing WFP's mission to build a pathway to peace, stability, and prosperity for people recovering from conflicts, disasters, and the effects of climate change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Knowledge Sharing Platform and Cloud School under the South-South Cooperation framework.
  • Develop and implement Technical Training Activities focusing on agriculture, rural development, food security, and poverty reduction.
  • Design and oversee the execution of the Capacity Building Strategy, enhancing WFP’s impact.
  • Establish and maintain Knowledge Sharing Networks, and Strategic Partnerships with other UN agencies, NGOs, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project management, strategic reporting, and the development of concept notes for funding opportunities.
  • Supervise and guide junior staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Advanced University Degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, or related fields. A first degree with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in food security, agriculture, rural development, or related fields. Previous experience with the UN or international organizations is an advantage.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and Chinese is required. Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.
