Description
Employer: Ludwig Institute of Cancer Research
Location: United Kingdom
Salary: Competitive
Closing Date: November 19, 2024
The University of Oxford and Ludwig Cancer Research are expanding our team of cancer researchers and seek early to mid-career individuals for Assistant or Associate Professor positions.
The University of Oxford offers a prestigious research environment with a strong focus on biomedical research. The Ludwig Cancer Institute, located within the Nuffield Department of Medicine at the Old Road Campus, serves as a hub for cancer research across the University. We collaborate closely with other departments, including the Kennedy Institute (immunology), the Jenner Institute (vaccines), and the Big Data Institute (computational biology), among others. Our network extends to investigators in chemistry, mathematics, physics, and biology.
As part of an international organization with core-funded branches in Oxford, Princeton, and Lausanne, the Ludwig Institute aims to enhance our understanding of cancer and improve patient care. The Oxford branch specializes in epigenetics and the development of novel technologies, and we are particularly interested in epitranscriptomics, RNA biology, single-cell/spatial approaches, myeloid biology, and structural epigenetics, while welcoming innovative research in any area.
We provide strong support through core funding, covering PI salaries, PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and research consumables. Our facilities include cutting-edge resources like high-resolution microscopy, cryo-EM, ultra-sensitive mass spectrometry, and CRISPR screening.
Candidates should hold a relevant PhD and be prepared to establish independent research programs. A proven track record in publications and collaboration is essential. We offer competitive salaries, robust institutional support, comprehensive benefits, and a family-friendly work environment, including an on-campus nursery and convenient access to London and European cities.
Interested applicants should submit the following materials as PDF documents to our departmental coordinator at eoi@ludwig.ox.ac.uk:
- Cover letter
- CV
- Research plan
- Names and email addresses of three referees
Application Deadline: November 1, 2024
