Overview
Join the UN Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) in China as an Associate Development Coordination Officer. Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, supporting the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Support inter-agency efforts for monitoring and reporting UNCT results via the UNINFO platform.
- Assist in quality assurance of the Cooperation Framework’s monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Facilitate independent evaluations and serve as the RCO focal point for monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) initiatives.
- Data and Research Strategies:
- Assist in designing and implementing data strategies for Common Country Analysis (CCA) and Cooperation Framework.
- Conduct data analysis and visualization to support reporting on sustainable development topics.
- Partnership Development:
- Strengthen partnerships with national data systems, academia, and private sector entities.
- Facilitate collaboration with research institutions on the 2030 Agenda.
- Knowledge Management:
- Share best practices and lessons learned in data management and monitoring.
- Engage in communities of practice to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing.

- Professionalism: Strong understanding of sustainable development theories, data analysis, and reporting.
- Teamwork: Collaborative approach to achieving organizational goals and valuing diverse ideas.
- Planning and Organizing: Effective prioritization and resource allocation for project success.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in relevant fields (e.g., public administration, sustainable development). A first-level degree with additional experience may be accepted.
- Experience: Minimum of two years in research support, monitoring, and evaluation within development contexts. UN experience is a plus.
- Languages: Fluency in English and Chinese; knowledge of another UN language is advantageous.
