Description
The Department of Accounting, Finance & Insurance is seeking highly motivated candidates interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Economics, focusing on topics related to audit and governance.
Project Overview
This empirical project will explore the impact of various internal and external governance instruments—such as the board of directors and auditors—on board effectiveness, firm performance, and misconduct.
Candidate Profile
To qualify for immediate entry into the doctoral program, applicants must have completed a master’s degree with distinction in (applied) economics, econometrics, finance, or business engineering by September 2024. Successful candidates should demonstrate outstanding qualifications at both bachelor’s and master’s levels, along with a high level of proficiency in English for effective communication with colleagues.
What We Offer
We provide a full-time Ph.D. scholarship position for an initial 12-month period, extendable to a maximum of 4 years upon positive evaluation. This individualized doctoral program enables students to dedicate four years to full-time research, ultimately leading to a doctoral degree and preparing them for academic or research careers in top universities or policy institutions.
