The IBDP Coordinator is a collaborative and dynamic leader who, along with the Head of Secondary, ensures the overall quality of the curriculum within the school. The coordinator works with senior school teachers to create an engaging, language-rich environment that fosters high-quality learning, student agency, and independence. With a focus on promoting a love for learning and a positive school culture, the coordinator builds strong relationships with students, parents, and staff. This role emphasizes student wellbeing, character development, and professional learning.
The Coordinator plays a pivotal role in curriculum planning and the delivery of challenging, inquiry-based units designed to build students’ language competencies. They are committed to action research, professional growth, and using best practices in classroom instruction and assessment strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Quality: Collaborate with the Head of Secondary to ensure the overall curriculum quality and effectiveness.
- Teaching and Learning: Design and deliver engaging inquiry-based units, promoting high student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Professional Development: Lead and support teachers in curriculum implementation and professional growth.
- Wellbeing and Character Building: Support the development of strong character attributes essential for student success.
- Stakeholder Communication: Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, acting as an ambassador for the IBDP program.

Qualifications and Experience
- Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in teaching the IB Diploma Programme.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Certification: PGCE, QTS, or a teaching license from non-UK countries.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills to promote pedagogical innovation and best practices.
- Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and administrative abilities.
- Public Speaking: Capacity to represent the school and speak at meetings regarding IB matters.
