Job Summary: The Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The department is interested in candidates who explore the interactions between cognition, emotion, and behavior, particularly in relation to stress, depression, or anxiety, and their effects on brain or physical health. Expertise in Cognitive Psychology, such as perception, attention, memory, problem solving, reasoning, decision-making, or language, is especially encouraged. However, the department is open to all candidates engaged in research aimed at developing interventions to enhance cognitive, symptomatic, and/or functional wellness in diverse populations.
Key Initiatives: UTA is launching a Clinical Imaging Research Center featuring a 3 Tesla MRI dedicated to research. Additionally, the Arlington Study of Healthy Aging is being developed to explore age-related functional decline. Applicants whose work aligns with these initiatives will be given special consideration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality research, teaching, and service.
- Supervise graduate and undergraduate student research.
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or equivalent in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field.
- Strong publication record or potential for significant research contributions.
- Evidence of existing funding or the potential to secure external funding.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
